 As the owner and master craftsman at Mekkelek Custom Woodwork & Cabinetry in Raleigh, North Carolina, since 2002, George has led the company to become a renowned name in custom cabinetry. Before founding Mekkelek, George acquired extensive experience as a machinist with various European firms. Dedicated to craftsmanship revival, George likes to hone his skills with traditional hand tools and master historical joinery methods such as dovetails, mortise and tenon, and lap joints. He enjoys carving and inlay techniques to add intricate details to his pieces. By blending old and new, George creates a unique and timeless aesthetic, incorporating modern functionalities like storage solutions, lighting, and technology into historically inspired designs.
