Our Residential Services Warranty
As the purchaser of cabinetry from Mekkelek Custom Woodwork & Cabinetry (“Mekkelek”), you have chosen products built with exceptional care, precision, and attention to detail. Each piece is crafted to the highest standards of quality and workmanship, reflecting our dedication to creating cabinetry that is both functional and enduring. To give you confidence in your investment, your Mekkelek cabinetry is protected by our Limited Lifetime Workmanship Warranty (the “Warranty”), ensuring lasting peace of mind and support for years to come.
Coverage Under This Warranty
This Warranty covers defects in workmanship in your Mekkelek cabinetry for as long as you, the original purchaser, own and reside in the home where the cabinetry was originally installed. This Warranty is extended to the original purchaser only and is not transferable. Mekkelek does not extend this Warranty to subsequent owners of the cabinetry. Mekkelek will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace any component determined to be defective in workmanship under normal residential use.
Warranty Service
In the event of a claim, Mekkelek reserves the right to inspect the cabinetry to determine whether a workmanship defect exists. If a defect is confirmed, Mekkelek will provide repair or replacement of the affected part, or a comparable substitute if the original style or material is no longer available. Labor costs for removal or installation are not included. Also, transportation or shipping costs incurred in connection with this Warranty are not included.
Responsibilities of the Homeowner
To maintain coverage under this Warranty, you must:
Use and maintain your cabinetry in a manner consistent with residential use.
Promptly report any suspected workmanship defect to Mekkelek in writing, along with proof of purchase.
Follow care and cleaning guidelines provided by Mekkelek.
What is Not Covered Under this Warranty?
This Warranty does not cover, and Mekkelek will not be responsible for:
Normal wear and tear, including minor scratches, abrasions, or other conditions arising from everyday use.
Natural characteristics of wood (see below).
Colorfastness of finishes (see Natural Characteristics of Wood below).
Defects or damage arising from improper or negligent installation or maintenance, misuse, accidents, alterations (regardless of whether the alteration caused or contributed to the defect), or improper care.
Cabinetry that has been exposed to sunlight, water, and or extreme high or low humidity.
Cabinetry not maintained or stored in a climate controlled environment (see below).
Modifications or repairs made by anyone other than Mekkelek or an authorized representative.
Cabinets used in rental properties, commercial applications, or outside residential settings.
Finishes applied to unfinished and primed items at the jobsite.
Labor costs, including the costs of removing and reinstalling the cabinets.
Transportation or shipping costs incurred in connection with this Warranty.
Natural Characteristics of Wood
Because wood is a natural material, variations in color, texture, and grain are expected—even among pieces made from the same species. Over time, wood may also develop subtle changes in appearance as it naturally ages. Both stained and painted finishes may show slight differences in tone and grain, and painted components such as face frames, doors, and joints may eventually display visible hairline cracks at seams. Environmental factors—including sunlight, smoke, household cleaners, and fluctuations in temperature or humidity—can accelerate these changes and may lead to warping, splitting, or cracking. These conditions are considered normal characteristics of wood and natural wear and tear, and therefore are not covered under this Warranty.
Warpage: Doors up to 26” wide and 48” high will be warranted if warpage is greater than 1/8”. Doors over 26” wide and over 48” high will be warranted if warpage is greater than 1/4”. Upon installation, a cabinet may be forced out of square. The door(s) of an out of square cabinet will appear to be warped, when in fact they are not. Please remove all doors and check them on a flat surface for the above stated warpage tolerances before requesting replacement. Note that mortise and tenon doors over 26˝ wide and/or 48” high and made as one panel wide and/or high at the customer’s request are excluded from this Warranty.
Climate Controlled Environment. To minimize warpage and moisture expansion of wood products, Mekkelek products should be maintained in a climate controlled environment that avoids extreme temperatures and extremely high or low humidity conditions. Mekkelek will not warranty product stored or installed in any uncontrolled environment.
